"The European Commission has paid the third installment of the National Resilience and Recovery Plan (PNRR) amounting to 18.5 billion euros". This was announced yesterday by the Minister for European Affairs, the South, Cohesion Policies and the PNRR, Raffaele Fitto. "The payment of the third installment follows the Commission's positive assessment on the achievement of the 54 objectives and targets under the Plan, an assessment later confirmed by the EU member states in the Economic and Financial Committee and the subsequent RRF Committee," the minister added. "The payment of the third installment is proof of the great progress made in the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Facility. With this payment, Italy has received 85.4 billion euros, corresponding to more than 44 percent of the total PNRR. Today's payment is also the result of close and fruitful cooperation with the European Commission and the result of much hard work to achieve very complex goals related to reforms in the areas of competition, justice, public administration and taxation, as well as education, the labor market and the health system. The payment also covers investments to promote digital and green transition and to support research, innovation and education," he explained . "Work on the PNRR now continues unabated to get the positive assessment on the request for payment of the fourth installment and the revision of the Plan, including the new REPowerEU chapter," Fitto concluded.
