Following the tragedy of Mestre, which resulted in 21 deaths and 13 injured still hospitalized, the first names entered in the Venice Public Prosecutor's Office's register of suspects arrive, working to discover the causes and contributing causes of the accident involving the bus that overturned while transporting a group of tourists to Marghera. They are the CEO of the company La Linea, the bus's owner, and two officials from the Municipality of Venice: the manager of the mainland road and mobility sector and the manager of the road maintenance sector. The Public Prosecutor's Office suspects road homicide, numerous manslaughters, serious or very serious road personal injuries, and culpable personal injury. A month ago, construction began on the overpass where the bus was traveling prior to the accident.
