The prolonged summer is getting ready to pack its bags. From the Atlantic Ocean, Cyclone Medusa is about to arrive, bringing autumn to Italy. This is what IlMeteo.it meteorologists say. Starting from the weekend, in fact, the African anticyclone will gradually leave the country. If on Saturday the weather will be rather sunny, apart from more cloudiness over the entire North and occasional showers in the Alps, already on Sunday the entry of cooler currents from the northeastern quadrants will make the weather worse in the Northeast where thunderstorms will also break out during the afternoon. At the same time, a cyclone will arrive from the Atlantic Ocean in high gear ready to cause an intense wave of bad weather over Portugal and Spain. Then, Medusa will make its way toward Italy over the next week. The vortex will be fed by cooler air and driven by impetuous Libeccio winds. This combination of factors will cause both a collapse in temperatures and the arrival of rains. Going into detail is still too early, but supposedly by Tuesday 17 Cyclone Medusa will be very close to Italy and will pilot an intense disturbance that will strongly affect the Central-North. Rainfall will be very heavy with possible cloudbursts over Tuscany, Lazio and Umbria, regions also battered by Libeccio winds. More rain then will affect Campania and Puglia. But that's not the end of it. After a short-lived lull, the further advance toward Italy of Medusa will be the cause of the arrival of a second disturbance, roughly expected on Thursday 19. This disturbance front will also mainly affect the central and northern regions.
