Initially, he intimidated travelers on a bus. Later, after being let off, he approached two pedestrians. A 29-year-old man, a Moroccan citizen with no fixed abode, asked passers-by where Rome's Termini Station was. The two pedestrians, who felt intimidated, tried to move away. However, the 29-year-old man, dressed in white overalls and with his hood up, responded by stabbing one of the two men in the throat. The friend who was in his company attempted to chase the attacker, but slipped and lost his trail, so he called for help. The attacker was later arrested by police on charges of attempted murder, and he still had the bloodstained knife on him. At present, there does not appear to be a religious motivation behind the attack. The victim underwent emergency surgery and is in serious condition at the Umberto I Polyclinic in the Capital.
