In Italy, 98% of businesses have experienced at least one cyber breach in the recent year, with major or extremely serious harm occurring in about two out of every three occurrences. This is what the Deloitte report "Future of Cyber: a cyber-first vision for security and value creation - The perspective of Italian companies" concludes. The paper contains the findings of interviews with a sample of Italian executives as part of a global study by Deloitte, who work for companies with at least 1,000 people and a $500 million annual revenue. According to the report's findings, the consequences of IT breaches are not limited to a loss of turnover or a decrease in the company's market value, as claimed by 40% and 36% of the Italian executives interviewed, but can also affect organizations from a regulatory standpoint, leading to fines and penalties for noncompliance with existing procedures or violations of cybersecurity regulations, as reported by 52% of respondents. 44% of respondents consider the reputational risk to be significant, as it pertains to adverse consequences for the company's image. Additionally, 46% are concerned about the potential erosion of consumer confidence.
