Regardless of the different narratives, the data speak for themselves: for migrant workers in Italy, the balance between tax and social security revenues (revenues, 29.2 billion euros) and public spending on welfare services (expenditures, 27.4 billion euros) remains positive, with +1.8 billion euros in surplus. These are the findings of the Leone Moressa Foundation's report on the economics of immigration, presented today at the Chamber. After the pandemic, the number of immigrant taxpayers is growing again. These are 4.3 million taxpayers (10.4 percent of the total), who declared 64 billion euros in income and paid 9.6 billion euros in IRPEF in 2022.
