In October, the Accademia Gallery in Florence has already surpassed the number of visitors for 2019. 2023 is shaping up to be a record-breaking year for the Florentine Museum, and as of yesterday, despite the fact that there are still more than two months until the end of the year, it had already recorded a figure 20% higher than in 2022, but also higher than in 2019, the period of greatest tourist influx prior to the pandemic. If the Accademia Gallery in Florence saw 1,704,451 visitors in 2019, according to museum data, 1,725,617 visitors have already entered the museum to admire Michelangelo's David, but also the Gipsoteca, the Hall of the Colossus, the collection of gold backgrounds, and the rooms that house the collection of precious musical instruments. 2023 witnessed an unprecedented influx of visitors, which was a direct result of the Gallery team's efforts in 2022, when significant structural renovations concluded and transformed the museum into a more contemporary and inviting environment.
