The inaugural edition of the bilateral debate between the Italian and US sections of the World Energy Council, organized in conjunction with Globe Italia, was held yesterday at the Italian Embassy in Washington. Italian institutions and industry excellence in the fields of energy and circular economy, as well as US institutional and industrial interlocutors, attended the two working sessions. "The energy crisis brought on by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, as well as the dire situation in the Middle East, heighten the urgency of the global energy transition. "Trusted allies like the United States and Italy, that will head the G7 in 2024, are being asked to provide a strong push in this direction. As a result, we are delighted to host the first bilateral dialogue on energy and sustainability organized by the Italian and US sections of the World Energy Council (WEC) and Globe Italia," said Mariangela Zappia, Ambassador of Italy to the United States. "Italy's leadership in renewable energy and the circular economy, also recognized thanks to the success stories of our industrial groups in this country, contribute to making Italy a privileged interlocutor of the United States on all issues related to the energy transition," according to the diplomat.
