The decarbonisation of the Italian economy alone, with an annual investment of €14.7 billion in the years 2020-30, will result in direct savings of €6.6 billion per year, with a spin-off of €53 billion per year for the State. This is the conclusion of Edo Ronchi, president of the Foundation for Sustainable Development, in his assessment on the state of the green economy in 2023. Furthermore, 123 gigatonnes of new renewables by 2030 would provide 430,000 new jobs, garbage circularity would generate 97,000 new jobs, and a 261-million-euro investment in ecosystem restoration would generate 10 times more added value.
