Fincantieri reasserts its commitment to advancing gender equality in the professional sphere through its signature on the Women's Empowerment Principles, a set of seven principles identified by the United Nations. The principles encompass the following: equitable treatment and a corporate environment that strives for gender parity; safeguarding the mental and physical health, safety, and welfare of all staff members while they are at work; encouraging their professional and personal development; and providing assistance to women in their professional aspirations. Finally, these standards call for all progress to be measured and published. In 2019, Fincantieri voluntarily joined the United Nations Global Compact, an initiative that promotes 10 universal principles relating to human rights, labor, the environment, and the fight against corruption in order to promote long-term ideals of sustainability. By signing the WEPs, Fincantieri confirms its commitment to fostering a sensitive and engaged culture toward issues of diversity and inclusion, thereby increasing the Group's human capital via the talent of each individual.
