The single judge of Rome sentenced Andrea Piazzola, the former assistant and factotum of Gina Lollobrigida, who died last January at the age of 95, to 3 years, accused of circumvention of incapacity for having stolen assets from the actress's estate between 2013 and 2018. The Prosecutor's Office had requested a sentence of seven and a half years. "It's still painful, but the sentence is appropriate. However, the truth is that it should not have come to this. This is a heartbreaking story that should never have happened. I arrived at the sentence psychologically drained, and I regret all the time I lost and the fact that I couldn't be by my mother's side," the actress' son, Milko Skofic, said shortly after the decision was pronounced.
