Katherine Alvarez, the 26-year-old Peruvian mother of Kata, the 5-year-old girl who went missing on June 10 from the former Astor hotel in Florence, has been reported by police for aggravated injuries after allegedly repeatedly injuring a 21-year-old compatriot with a knife in the bathrooms of a Florence nightclub. The attack occurred inside the "Tenax," a well-known nightclub in the city, between 1.30 and 2 a.m. on November 20, when two police vehicles and 118 rescuers responded. According to what has been reconstructed, the victim met Katherine in the toilet, whom she has known for some time, and that she began an argument for minor reasons, maybe grudges connected to earlier sentimental troubles. According to the victim's account, she was allegedly held by the hair before Katharine produced a pointed object and inflicted multiple wounds to her head and face. It was not able to determine if the weapon was a knife, a pair of scissors, or another blunt item because the police have not yet located the weapon. The Peruvian victim was taken by ambulance from 118 to the Careggi hospital's emergency room, where she was discovered to have five lacerated and bruised wounds between one cheek and the skull. In the absence of problems, the prognosis is 20 days.
