In the first quarter of 2023, there were 210,691 notarized purchase and sale agreements and other ones related to deeds of transfer for consideration for real estate units (-5.0 percent compared to the previous quarter and -11.0 percent year-on-year). This is according to the study released by Istat. In the quarterly comparison, housing marks negative percentage changes in all geographical repartitions of the country (Northwest -11.3%, South -4.7%, Center -4.3%, Islands -2.2%), except for the Northeast, which, on the contrary, is growing (+1.0%). The business sector increases in the Northeast and the Center (+13.0% and +6.9%, respectively), while it remains essentially stable in the Islands (-0.1%), the Northwest (+0.4%) and the South (+0.5%).
