The Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli performed a sold-out concert at Zurich's Hallenstadion on Monday evening. Shortly before the end of his performance, he discovered Federer was in the audience and said on stage, "Apparently tonight we have a living legend in the audience," encouraging Federer to enter the stage. The singer then sang "Nessun dorma," the renowned aria from Puccini's opera "Turandot." When confronted with the force and beauty of Bocelli's voice, Federer, as in previous finals, couldn't hold back the tears. Many spectators were able to observe the scene, with some photographing it and publishing it on social media.
