Two delegations composed of family members of Israeli and Palestinian prisoners were received yesterday by the Pope. This was announced by the Pontiff himself during the general audience. "I received two delegations, one of Israelis who have relatives with hostages in Gaza and another of Palestinians who have relatives imprisoned in Israel," the Holy Father said. "They are suffering immensely. I listened to how both groups are suffering." The Pontiff, speaking of the suffering he faced, noted that "This is what wars do, but here we have gone beyond wars: this is terrorism, please let us move forward for peace". To the faithful listening to him he then issued an exhortation, "Pray a lot for peace. May the Lord help us to solve problems and not go forward with passions that eventually kill everyone. Let us pray for the Palestinian and Israeli people".
