One in every five Italians continues to favor medical-scientific research or emergency humanitarian relief when making a gift. Animal protection, rescue, and rights are ranked third, exhibiting a substantial surge in popularity since 2022. This is the conclusion of the "Italiani Solidali" poll conducted by Bva Doxa and announced on the occasion of GivingTuesday, which takes place on November 28. According to the research, 20% of Italians stated they would make an ad hoc gift in 2022 to help the people who stayed in Ukraine throughout the war and to support initiatives in favor of refugees. One-third of these contributions went through a nonprofit organization. But in regards to the determinants that influence the selection of the beneficiary organization for one's contribution, trustworthiness and sincerity are of the utmost importance. Almost one in every two Italians prefers financial donations, while one in every three prefers to give through solidarity SMS campaigns or calls from a landline. Online donations made by credit card, PayPal, or online transfer are increasing all the time.
