One of Rai's most well-known special correspondents, Franco Zuccalà, died Sunday at the age of 83. He was born in Catania in 1940 and was a familiar face on Domenica Sportiva, Novantesimo Minuto, and Tg1. He has worked as an editor, reporter, and editor-in-chief for major Italian publications such as La Sicilia, La Gazzetta dello Sport, Il Giornale, and Tuttosport. He covered 10 World Cups, four Olympic Games, eight European Championships, and two African Nations Cups. Columbia University in New York bestowed upon him an honorary doctorate in Communications Science.
