Filippo Turetta's parents visited the Montorio jail in Verona Wednesday to speak with their son, who confessed to the murder of Giulia Cecchettin. The first visit following the incident lasted roughly an hour. The young man hugged and thanked his father and mother for paying him a visit. Despite his repeated requests to see them, the two individuals in question canceled the interview a few days prior. The 21-year-old is fresh off the river questioning, during which he stated of the girl's crime: "Something clicked in my head, and I just wanted her for myself”.
