In the post-Covid age, Italy rebirths as the world reference for congresses and conventions. Academics, researchers, managers, and business experts continue to travel from the north to the south of Italy, providing great tourists and enhancing the country's prestige. According to the ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) database, Italy will be the second destination in Europe for international association congresses in 2022 for the first time in the last ten years (560 arranged). After the United States, it is the world's third largest. A pattern that appears to be confirmed in 2023 and, most likely, in 2024. After Italy, there is Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France: all of which are once above our country. Six Italian cities are among the top 100 in the world: Rome, Milan, Bologna, Florence, Turin, and Naples, and Italy has the most cities in the top one hundred. It is estimated that a convention visitor spends around twice as much as another sort of traveler.
