Home is a pillar of security "despite everything”. 83.2% of Italians consider owning the home in which they live a factor of security and stability. This is the opinion of 76.9% of 18-34 year olds, 82.4% of 35-64 year olds, and 89.3% of people 65 years and older. For 78.4% of Italians, home is an expression of their identity and personality, for 69.1% it is always a safe investment, and 50.0% of owners say they will never sell their home because they want to pass it down as an inheritance to their children or grandchildren. The data confirm that in Italian society, home ownership is still a pillar of individual stability and social cohesion. This is what emerges from the second Federproprietà-Censis Report "Home despite everything" presented yesterday in the Senate. Among homeowners with a mortgage on their backs, 35.9 percent say that rising interest rates have made it difficult to pay their installments. Struggling the most are the youngest: 42.6 percent of 18-34 year olds compared to 39.5 percent of 35-64 year olds and 26.1 percent of people 65 and older.
