Adolfo Urso, Italy's Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, and Yasutoshi Nishimura, Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry, signed a joint document on economic, industrial, and technological cooperation yesterday in Tokyo. The signing is a natural continuation of the process of enhancing Italy-Japan political collaboration, which was sanctioned last January by Prime Ministers Giorgia Meloni and Fumio Kishida with the elevation of bilateral relations to Strategic partnership. The ministers' agreement aims to increase industry synergies as well as make investments in mutually beneficial industries. Cooperation between the countries will be strengthened by encouraging cooperation between enterprises and startups in the fields of next-generation technologies - such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and quantum technologies - energy, infrastructure, and biotech. The government agencies Istituto Commercio Estero and Japan External Trade Organization will play a critical role in the consolidation of economic relations between Italy and Japan.
