Emanuela Maccarani is back as the national technical director of rhythmic gymnastics. According to the federal court's decision, the DT had previously insulted the athletes, describing such behavior as excessive affection. A year later, during the federal council in Rome, President Gherardo Tecchi announced her return as national technical director of rhythmic gymnastics. This decision was made after meeting with CONI president Giovanni Malagò. Some federal council members have strenuously opposed Maccarani's relocation to the position of national technical director. Some of them would have liked to await the completion of the criminal inquiry initiated by the Monza Public Prosecutor's Office. The prosecutor's office is due to determine by the end of January whether to request an indictment of the coach and her aide Olga Tishina, who was indicted but acquitted by sports justice. On October 26, Maccarani had already returned to the National Council of CONI as a representative of the technicians, following a self-suspension related to the sporting and criminal trials for suspected psychological mistreatment of some former athletes. Ultimately, this case will continue to generate controversy, beginning with the first public complaints of people who attended the Desio Academy, as evidenced by the startling reactions of Nina Corradini and Anna Basta in the face of today's Federginnastica judgment.
