Campari Group announced that it has entered into exclusive negotiations with Beam Suntory, Inc and granted the latter an option to sell in that context in order to acquire 100 percent of the share capital of Beam Holding France S.A.S., which owns Courvoisier S.A.S. Courvoisier is among the top four historic premium cognac houses, a world-renowned brand with strong exposure to the United States and a growing presence in the Asia Pacific region. Campari Group calls the engagement a "unique opportunity to enter the top league of the super premium cognac category". This is the most significant transaction in Campari Group's history, and will enable significant enhancement in the United States, with potential for long-term transformation of the growth profile in the strategic Asian region. The transaction has an Enterprise Value of USD 1.32 billion (€1.22 billion at today's exchange rate) in the absence of cash or financial debt, consisting of a fixed price of USD 1.20 billion (€1.11 billion). Campari Group is a major player in the global spirits industry, with a portfolio of more than 50 premium and super premium brands, spanning global, regional and local priorities. The Group was founded in 1860 and today is the world's sixth largest player in the "premium spirits" sector.
