In the Advent Calendar, there are only a few chocolates left to unwrap: Christmas is only a few days away, and we are already thinking about what we might receive as a present, in addition to the last-minute shopping. Every year, we end up unwrapping exactly what we wanted or getting something, we don't use or like. Wallapop, a leading platform for the buying and selling of second-hand products that promotes a more responsible consumption model, surveyed Italians via mUp regarding the items they would prefer not to receive as Christmas presents this year. Home decorations and apparel (e.g., pajamas and socks) appear to be the least appreciated presents. So, what happens if we unwrap a gift under the tree that we didn't want? According to the findings, one in every four Italians would repackage it and give it to someone else, while approximately 37% would keep it even if they would not use it. On the other hand, most Italians (nearly 40%) would sell it on a second-hand site, possibly to make some additional money before the new year. Respondents between the ages of 25 and 55 are the most likely to use an online second-hand marketplace.
