HousingAnywhere, Europe's largest medium-term rental platform, has released its latest International Rent Index for the fourth quarter of 2023, analyzing rental price trends in Europe's 23 largest cities and revealing that Rome ranks second in Europe for apartment prices, just behind Amsterdam (2,200 euros) and just above Milan. In Rome, rents are rising in certain types of housing. First and foremost are apartments, which come to cost an average of 2,000 euros per month, up 5.6 percent from 2022. But price increases are especially evident for rooms: in this type of property, Rome has registered an annual increase of 11.3 percent (reaching 600 euros compared to 539 in 2022), although the rent for a room is still 120 euros less than in Milan. On a positive note, Rome shows a different trend for studio apartments and ends 2023 with a decrease of -7.6 percent compared to 2022 (with the price of 970 euros compared to 1,050 euros last year).
