The Vatican's diplomatic directory has been updated. There are 184 states that currently maintain full diplomatic relations with the Holy See. To them must be added the European Union and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. There are 91 diplomatic missions accredited to the Holy See based in Rome, including those of the European Union and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Also based in Rome are the Offices accredited to the Holy See of the League of Arab States, the International Organization for Migration and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee. During 2023, on February 23, the Holy See established full diplomatic relations with the Sultanate of Oman. On July 19, the "Supplementary Agreement to the Agreement between the Holy See and the Republic of Kazakhstan on Mutual Relations, of September 24, 1998," regarding the granting of visas and residence permits to ecclesiastical and religious personnel from abroad, signed on September 14, 2022, was ratified. The "Agreement on the Status of the Resident Pontifical Representative and the Office of the Resident Pontifical Representative in Viet Nam" was concluded with Viet Nam on July 27, with the subsequent appointment of a resident pontifical representative on December 23.
