Something is changing: technical-practical jobs are starting to gain acceptance again among the younger generation. This is good news, given that at the same time the world of work is constantly struggling to find figures prepared to perform them. This was revealed by the annual "Youth and Professions" Observatory, carried out by the Skuola.net portal in collaboration with Autostrade per l'Italia, surveying 2,500 high school students. Among young people nearing graduation, in fact, about 1 in 4 are considering these occupations as a possible option for the future, especially if they are associated with high training and consequent pay. In short, there are many boys - here the share rises to 1 in 3 - but also girls willing to consider and pursue technical-practical occupations, provided the right conditions are in place. The number of students well disposed toward more manual than theoretical careers, moreover, is growing rapidly over time. Just compare the current data with those of the 2022 Observatory: back then, practical professions convinced only 19 percent of respondents and 26 percent of males.
