More than two million visitors in 2023 to the Accademia Gallery in Florence. An unprecedented record was set by the Florentine museum, which reached 2,013,974 admissions as of last December 31. It is a 41 percent increase over 2022,and a growing trend that is continuing into the first days of 2024 with an additional 19 percent more visitors in these ten days of January than in the same period of 2023 and conveys optimism for the new year. Leading the way, in addition to the works of the Florentine museum with the David and the Prison Gallery in the lead, are the completely renovated Gipsoteca, the new Colossus Room, and the other collections of gold fonds and musical instruments. Not forgetting the first major monographic exhibition in Europe dedicated to Pier Francesco Foschi (1502-1567), a Florentine painter with more than forty autograph works by the great Mannerist. So many tickets have been taken since the opening of the exhibition to date with percentages exceeding the same period in 2019 by 50 percent.
