An agreement has been reached between the Ghanaian firm Musahamate and the holding company Bonifiche Ferraresi (agri-food) regarding the assignment of an area measuring approximately 1,700 hectares in the Volta river region. At a later period, BF Ghana will become the assignee of an additional concession for the cultivation of land in the same region, totaling 5,900 hectares. The primary concentration will be on growing corn, soybeans, wheat, rice, and tomatoes for the home market, as well as bananas. The new company has also pledged to invest in the development of an irrigation system that will draw water from the Volta River and incorporate load-bearing lines to transport and provide water throughout the arable area. Ghana is only one part of Bf Spa's Africa promotion. Similar to what happened in the sub-Saharan country, the holding company recently formed two more joint ventures, one in Algeria and one in Egypt. Other initiatives include Libya, Tunisia, Congo, Mozambique, Angola, and Rwanda.
