A new wave of cold weather arrived in Italy over the weekend, boding well for winter tourism. But it's not just snow: according to estimates by O.N.F. - National Federconsumatori Observatory, there will be sharp increases in costs for the ski week. In detail, the Observatory monitored prices for equipment rental, hotel, meals and ski pass for a family of four preparing to spend the ski week (7 days and 6 nights) at one of the most popular ski resorts in Italy. As part of the monitoring, the main ski resorts in Veneto, Valle d'Aosta, Trentino-Alto Adige, Lombardy, Abruzzo and central Italy were considered. Prohibitive costs emerge: in the 2023-2024 season a family will spend an average of 7,104.96 euros, 11 percent more than in the previous season. The highest increases are in the cost of the weekly ski pass (+18%), equipment rental (+10%) and hotel (+13%).
