Increasing awareness of the importance of renewable energy communities, demand flexibility, security of V2X systems, and broad prospects for the future: this and much more emerged from the results of a recent survey that Hive Power conducted among major Italian and European companies in the electric mobility and energy sector. According to 38 percent of respondents, the area that most companies will focus on in 2024 is precisely electric mobility, although equally important will be the focus on energy storage systems and flexibility (36 percent). Most respondents then believe that a key role is to be played by energy service aggregators (46 percent), i.e., electricity market players that aggregate several distributed generation and consumption units into a single virtual unit; 26 percent, on the other hand, believe that utilities should lead the process. Among the most significant challenges, on the other hand, is undoubtedly market readiness (36 percent): this underscores the importance of a favorable market environment to facilitate the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, emphasizing the need for synergies between the private sector and institutions to promote innovation.
