Scuderia Ferrari has announced an extension of its association with Charles Leclerc, who will continue to compete for the Italian team in the following Formula 1 World Championship seasons. Charles has been with the Maranello label since before he joined Formula One, joining the Ferrari Driver Academy in 2016. After winning the Formula 2 title in 2017, the Monegasque spent a year learning Grand Prix racing with Sauber before joining the Scuderia in 2019. That season, he won his maiden race, becoming the youngest driver in team history to do so at the renowned Spa-Francorchamps track; a week later, he repeated the feat in front of euphoric fans in Monza. In 2022, he won three more Grand Prix and finished second in the Drivers' standings. Charles, who is currently 26 years old and is renowned for his extraordinary flying lap abilities, is already the second-youngest driver in history to have achieved the most pole positions in a Ferrari. At the time of writing, he tied Niki Lauda on 23, with only the legendary Michael Schumacher holding the record with 58. In 103 races, he won 30 podiums, set seven fastest laps, and earned 1035 points.
