Former military, police force personnel already experienced and trained, even retired. People capable of supporting in real time those who are already in the field in conflicts, international crises, even natural disasters, able to defend the country if "unmanned" as engaged on other fronts. As the reservists law takes shape, the Defense Ministry in Rome is working on a measure to introduce a state auxiliary reserve, consisting of no more than 10,000 volunteers. The reserve - once recruited, trained and periodically trained - could be composed of former soldiers or personnel with certain specifications, deployable in cases of need during any conflicts and international crises, not employed on the front lines of operational theaters but for logistical support and cooperation. In November, Defense Minister Guido Crosetto had already announced that he wanted to reform the army "from top to bottom”, in order to be ready (referring to the war in Ukraine) "for the worst possible scenario", intervening with funds, investments and the increase not only of the number of personnel, but also with the creation of a national reserve formed by volunteers.
