Between 30 km/h cities and the actions of the so-called "Fleximan" (the name under which many citizens who smash speed cameras hide), speed limits and road safety have returned to the forefront of public discourse. The matter is also hot because, according to a survey commissioned by Facile.it and Assicurazione.it, Italians frequently have the bad habit of pressing the accelerator too hard; more than 10.5 million Italian motorists have acknowledged exceeding the speed limit. A poor habit that is especially prevalent among the young, accounting for 37.3% of those aged 25 to 34. At the territorial level, the percentage rises to nearly 40% in the North East. Unfortunately, not following speed limits is just one of the terrible habits of Italian drivers: from using a mobile phone while driving to getting behind the wheel after consuming alcohol to parking in restricted places, this is how common unsafe driving behavior is.
