Enel is experiencing problems in the United States. The Italian energy giant will have to remove 84 wind turbines from the Indian Nation Osage in Oklahoma at a cost of approximately 260 million dollars. This was established by a federal district court in the US state after the tribe sued Enel for failing to obtain approval from the local Indian government for the wind farm's operation. According to the Financial Times, this is one of the first U.S. orders requiring the evacuation of an operational wind farm. A subsequent trial will determine how much compensation the firm will pay to the Osage tribe. The Italian energy gaint underlined that "Enel and Osage Wind respect the legal process regarding Osage Wind and, while they disagree with the decision of the Federal District Court of Oklahoma, will continue to act in good faith to manage the project in accordance with the law until the final outcome of the matter is determined".
