After a 32-day cruise and 14,000 nautical miles, the Moby Legacy, the Moby Group's latest ferry and sister ship of the world's largest ferry, Moby Fantasy, docked in Livorno for the first time on Sunday, January 28. Departing on December 27, 2023 from the Chinese shipyard Guangzhou Shipyard, it crossed three oceans to make its first entry into the Mediterranean on Saturday, with Commander Massimo Pinsolo and his crew at the helm. As for Moby Fantasy: "An emotion that lasted 14,000 nautical miles, being able to lead to Livorno from China, after the Moby Fantasy, also the Moby Legacy fills us with pride and satisfaction." Moby Legacy will be operational in Sardinia along the Livorno-Olbia route beginning on February 17. With a length of 237 meters, a width of 32 metres, and a gross tonnage of 69,500 tonnes, Moby Legacy, together with its sister ship Moby Fantasy, is the world's largest passenger ferry, capable of carrying 3,000 passengers and 3,850 linear metres of rolling freight. And that is not all. The high sustainability requirements chosen also make it the most advanced and technologically sophisticated ferry in terms of environmental preservation and emission reduction.
