Dance, music, tradition and magic. Everything is ready for the Vienna Opernball, which will be held on February 8 in the Austrian capital. As per tradition, also this year a young Italian will take part in this evocative event born in the 1800s, which still retains its charm. Representing Italy at the prestigious evening will be Marina Eliano, a student from Pompeii, Campania, winner of the 15th edition of the Grand Viennese Ball in Rome. At the Ball Marina will be accompanied by Sebastian Aste, a student of environmental engineering in Vienna, ski instructor and vice president of his university's rowing team. It is thanks to the union and collaboration born between Elvia Venosa, creator of the Italian edition, the Embassy of Austria and the City of Vienna, that every year a young couple has the great privilege of participating in the famous "Vienna Opera Ball", staged on the evening of Fat Thursday. A unique event of its kind, even today all over the world it is considered the "Ball of all balls" par excellence, and, like every year, the magic comes to life and the enchantment is repeated, for the audience in the hall and for those who follow the event live (almost two million viewers) worldwide. The Grand Viennese Ball in Rome is the only Italian ball twinned with the Vienna Opera Ball, with the task of representing the ancient tradition of Viennese dances in the world, giving many young girls aged between 15 and 24 the chance to experience again the values and traditions of Viennese dances and to experience the magical atmosphere of the Habsburg balls. The Vienna Opera Ball, in its original language Wiener Opernball, classified by UNESCO as a cultural heritage, is Austria's most prestigious reception. On this occasion, the Vienna State Opera House is transformed into a grand ballroom to welcome debutantes from all over the world.
