Italy is developing the world's first operational prototype of ultra-fast land transport with magnetic levitation, which includes a unique train capable of flying at the speed of an airplane. Webuild, in a joint venture with Leonardo, has been granted a contract for 4 million euros for the feasibility study leading up to the building of Hyper Transfer. This paved the way for the development of the world's first operating prototype, as well as the ultimate expansion of transportation to include passengers. Hyperloop is a high-speed land transportation system in which products and people are transported using capsules that ride inside a tube. The low pressure inside the tube decreases friction, and the capsules travel at high speeds due to propulsion and magnetic levitation technologies, enabling long-term and energy-efficient mobility. Its implementation would help to minimize high road traffic, resulting in improved road safety and lower CO2 emissions.
