Tourists, especially international ones, are not giving up visiting Venice, especially during Carnival. According to THE NEXT's report by Global Blue and Lybra Tech, the increase in tourists, especially from the United States, is reflected in a sustained trend of sales in stores: those spending the most are Americans, with a 28 percent share (doubled compared to 2019) and an average receipt of 1,296 euros (+28 percent). However, spending more on average are tourists from Southeast Asia: 1,642 euros (+17%). Closing the podium are the Chinese, with 13 percent of tax-free spending and an average receipt of 1,415 euros (+6 percent). The British, with 4 percent of total spending, constitute a real emerging nationality for the sector.
