A great cry for global peace. This was Pope Francis' plea to the multitude gathering in St. Peter's Square in Rome for the Angelus on Sunday, February 4. "I invite you to pray for peace, for which the world yearns so much, and which today more than ever is put at risk in many places," he went on to say. "It is the obligation of the entire human family, not just a select few. Let us all work together to develop it, demonstrating compassion and courage. Let us continue to pray for those suffering from conflict." And he went on to hope for "the overcoming of ideological visions to rediscover that every human life, even the one most marked by limitations, has an immense value and is capable of giving something to others." As a result, the pontiff urged us to pray for peace, seeing it as everyone's responsibility, with a focus on the tough situations in Ukraine, Palestine, and Israel.
