Italy's Leonardo has signed a memorandum of understanding with Saudi Arabia for collaboration in aerospace and defense. The understanding, signed at the World Defense Show in Riyadh, covers five areas: space, maintenance, localization for electronic warfare systems, radar and helicopters. Focuses on specific areas are planned in both air combat and multi-domain integration, fields in which Leonardo is developing next-generation technologies such as remotely piloted systems and integrated sensors. Leonardo President Stefano Pontecorvo said the agreement "represents not only an important opportunity to consolidate defense cooperation and strengthen a common vision on future air combat operations, but also a platform to jointly develop new technologies". According to Codirector General Lorenzo Mariani, the agreement will enable "strengthening the partnership with high-tech solutions".
