Marinella, a traditional Neapolitan men's fashion brand, has entrusted the tailoring of ties for prison police officers to inmates at Santa Maria Capua Vetere, a maximum-security women's prison. Marinella's engagement to Campania's jails is not new. The first initiative, which began four years ago, was carried out in the women's prison in Pozzuoli. The second edition, on the other hand, targeted a more difficult audience: women imprisoned for major crimes (terrorism or mafia) in Santa Maria Capua Vetere. There is a laboratory equipped with cutting-edge machinery. Only inmates who have distinguished themselves for excellent behavior for at least six months are permitted to work between tables, cotton spools, and huge scissors, knowing that work can also be used as a reward measure. According to the law, prisoners are paid two-thirds of the amount specified in the national collective bargaining agreement. After serving their terms, individuals can return to regular employment.
