From Rita Levi-Montalcini to Vasco Rossi; from Benito Jacovitti to Pietro Mennea. The new collection of coins of the Italian Republic, presented by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato, is a voyage through great Italians and national excellence for amateurs and specialists. Every year, fresh items are added to the collection, reflecting the master engravers' ingenuity in combining and blending reverence for history with the study of the most recent numismatic technologies. This year's 2-euro and 5-euro silver coins will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Guardia di Finanza's founding, while the 5-euro silver coin will commemorate the 2023-2025 World Tour of the Amerigo Vespucci, the navy's historical training ship. Another 2-euro commemorative coin, likewise, designed for ordinary circulation, honors physicist Rita Levi-Montalcini, the only Italian woman to have received the Nobel Prize in Medicine. Three coins will be dedicated to the history of motorcycles, beginning with the ancient Ducati factory in Borgo Panigale, which opened in 1926. Coins will commemorate the 100th anniversary of Giacomo Puccini's death, as well as a series dedicated to Italian music, which will be started by Vasco Rossi's Albachiara.
