Yeman Crippa projects the Italian marathon into a new era. The Italian set the Italian record in Seville in 2:06:06, one minute and ten seconds faster than Iliass Aouani's previous mark of 2:07:16 set in Barcelona last year. In the second marathon of his career, the Fiamme Oro rider from Trentino finished fourth with a comeback race and a second half faster than the first, overtaking the other Italian Eyob Faniel (Fiamme Oro) in the final kilometers, who fell below the previous record with 2h07:09, the second Italian performance ever, and seventh place at the finish line.
