Jannik Sinner isn't satisfied. Protagonist of an amazing second half of 2023 and winner of the first Slam of the new season, the Australian Open, the Italian tennis player achieves another great goal. The twenty-two-year-old from San Candido, in the province of Bolzano, is the new champion of the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam. In fact, after defeating Botic van de Zandschulp, Gael Monfils, Milos Raonic and Tallon Griekspoor, the pupil of coaches Simone Vagnozzi and Darren Cahill, he won the final over the Australian Alex de Minaur with a score of 7-5 6-4 in 2 hours and 5 minutes of play. It is his twelfth career title on the major circuit, and it permits him to advance in history. Sinner now ranks third in the world, a position no Italian player has held since the Open era began in 1968. Adriano Panatta was ATP number four in August 1976, yet in 1959 and 1960, when he won Roland Garros, Nicola Pietrangeli was ranked third in the world by the authoritative British journalist Lance Tingay in the absence of a computerized rating. As a result, the aim has been met, with the awareness that all of the credentials are in place to move on.
