Despite not being behind the wheel, the Como police opted to revoke a 40-year-old man's license when he tested positive for alcohol. According to the ludicrous case's reconstructions, the incident occurred on November 30, when the man was with a friend and had just left a restaurant in town. The vehicle had been parked in an illegal spot, and the police were fining the owner. The two companions went to find out what was going on and were both submitted to alcohol tests, the results of which were slightly higher than the limits allowed for the car's owner. Despite the fact that the individual was not driving at the time and was on foot, the cops opted to revoke his license and fine him. The man appealed to the Justice of the Peace, who granted his plea. However, regaining his license was not easy. Following the Justice of the Peace's judgment, the guy returned to the prefecture to obtain the document, but the employees refused. The prefecture ordered additional investigations, including clinical testing, to determine his ability to drive. Despite the officials' opposition, the license was eventually returned to its rightful owner thanks to a subsequent ruling by the Justice of the Peace. However, the situation may not be completely addressed because a hearing on the matter is scheduled for February 22.
