What is Italians’ priority? Certainly working less. 67.7% of employed Italians in the future would like to reduce the time they spend at work: 65.5% of young people, 66.9% of adults and 69.6% of those over 50 long for this. Already, 30.5% of the employed (34.7% among young people) say they engage in work the bare minimum, refusing overtime, calls or emails outside working hours and performing only what they are responsible for by task. This is the finding of the seventh Censis-Eudaimon Report on corporate welfare. For 52.1% of the employed, work currently influences their private lives less than in the past because they devote themselves to activities and have values that they consider more important. 54.2% of young people, 50.1% of adults, and 52.6% of older people share this view. Almost 28% gave up a better job than their current one because the location was too far from their home.
