The Gemelli Polyclinic is once again the greatest hospital in Italy, according to an annual rating compiled by the American magazine Newsweek in partnership with Statista R. It is the fourth year in a row that the University Hospital has placed itself at the top of excellence in Italy, while also consolidating its position of absolute importance in the world ranking, placing 35th overall (38th last year in the ranking of the best hospitals in the world) in the world top 250. It is the only Italian hospital ranked among the top 50 in the world. This year's rating of the 250 finest hospitals on the planet comprised 2,400 facilities from 30 nations. The first three places go to the Mayo Clinic - Rochester (USA), Cleveland Clinic (USA), and Toronto General - University Health Network (Canada). There is no hospital in Southern Italy among the best-rated Italian institutions.
