Cyber intelligence has become a struggle for the most powerful companies in Silicon Valley and some Italian firms. Google and Meta have published documents in which they point the finger at some companies, five of which are Italian, accused of having pierced smartphones to steal information. All accusations were denied. Google's Threat Analysis Group published one analysis on February 6, while Meta published another on February 14. Both were uploaded online after the United States issued a visa restriction policy for individuals who abuse spyware. Among the Italian corporations highlighted in Google's study is Cy4Gate, a publicly traded company that collaborates with institutions and businesses from all over the world. Cy4Gate owns 100% of RCS, which in Italy collaborates with the main prosecutor's offices and anti-mafia directorates. Compared to what was disclosed in the two publications, Cy4Gate is considering taking the matter to court, compelling Silicon Valley's behemoths to prove their allegations. In terms of Cy4Gate, Google's Tag targeted the Epeius spyware, claiming that "spyware such as Epeius can be used to monitor and collect a wide range of personal information, including device location, social media activity, private calls, or audio recordings..." However, Cy4Gate explains that this type of scanner is solely utilized by police forces.
