After a hectic day in which several political leaders commented on the thorny investigation launched by the Perugia Public Prosecutor's Office into alleged dossier cases against political and non-political figures, the electoral campaign in Abruzzo further inflames the already fervent spirits. In fact, the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, capitalizes on the conclusion of the electoral campaign of Marco Marsilio, the departing president of Abruzzo, to launch her arrows: "I consider it extremely serious that there are state officials in Italy who have spent their time breaking the law by conducting arbitrary checks on citizens, ordinary and otherwise, at their discretion and then disclosing this information to the press." The case is now widely recognized. The investigators hypothesize that several police officers, notably Guardia di Finanza lieutenant Pasquale Striano, would have illegally accessed the National Anti-Mafia Directorate and Bank of Italy databases in pursuit of confidential information. The information gathered would subsequently be distributed to the press. The journalists under investigation include Giovanni Tizian, Nello Trocchia, and Stefano Vergine of the journal Domani. Guido Crosetto, Minister of Defense, filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office following the publication of a story in Domani regarding certain remuneration received by the Leonardo corporation.
